Technical Introduction: "High-Precision Far Infrared Glass Lens Technology"
It is possible to design and manufacture arsenic and selenium-free chalcogenide glass aspheric lenses!!
"Earth and user-friendly, high-precision far-infrared glass lenses" In the fields of autonomous driving and surveillance, there are challenges in sensing during low-light nighttime conditions. One solution that has gained attention is far-infrared sensing. Many of the mainstream chalcogenide lenses used in high-pixel far-infrared cameras contain toxic substances such as arsenic and selenium. To address the challenge of reduced workability when these substances are removed, Konica Minolta has improved both materials and processing methods through industry-academia collaboration, enabling greater design freedom than ever before. For example, it has become possible to express diffractive shapes and freeform surfaces on the lens surface, and by providing optical designs that leverage these features, we offer far-infrared lenses that are friendly to both the Earth and users.
